Flottstad is our little piece of Sweden, tucked away in the beautiful countryside of Northern Värmland.
Surrounded by forests, peaceful landscapes and wonderful wildlife, it is a place where everyday life seems to slow down.
Our fully equipped Swedish home welcomes up to seven guests. Whether you enjoy walking, fishing, exploring the countryside or simply relaxing outside with a good book, Flottstad offers the space to enjoy life at your own pace.
Sometimes a moose wanders through the garden. During migration, cranes may stop nearby. And every season brings its own beauty. None of that is guaranteed. It is simply what the owners have seen.
We love this place and are happy to share it with guests who appreciate nature and treat our home with the same care and respect that we do.

Where nature sets the pace.

Long before Flottstad became our peaceful retreat, this area played a part in the history of timber floating along the Klarälven.
According to the local history passed down to us, Flottstad was once a stopping place connected with this timber-floating tradition. The timber has long since left the river. What remains is the quiet of this part of Sweden.

The river
The Klarälven carried timber south for centuries. Evening light on a wide river is part of the landscape we know here.
Forests and walks
Finnskogen holds forest, quiet and traces of the old Finnish settlements. Walking is one of the simplest reasons to come.
Wildlife
Moose and cranes are part of the owners’ own experience of the garden. A sighting is a gift, never a booking promise.
Höljes
A small place in the forest, known quietly for most of the year and, for one weekend, to rallycross visitors from far away.
A place worth caring for.
Flottstad is more than a holiday rental to us. It is our home away from home, a place we care deeply about.
